Using query parameters in Databricks SQL

Martin DebusPosted on LinkedIn

You can use parameters in your SQL script in Databricks. Here’s how:

  • Spin up your (serverless) SQL warehouse.
  • Create an SQL script using colon notation (:parameter).
  • Run the script and enjoy your dynamic SQL results.

You can also pass parameters from a job to the SQL script. Try it out today—this can be a powerful tool for creating parameter-driven SQL queries. See the link to the docs in the first comment.
