Who you work with
Martin Debus
Martin Debus is the founder of SNOWGLOBE, a boutique Azure Databricks consultancy in Hamburg. He has worked with Azure Databricks since 2018 and was named a Databricks MVP in August 2026, one of only two in Germany.

What he works on
Since 2021, most of his projects have had Databricks at the center: platform setup and Unity Catalog, change data capture from Oracle and SAP, data product release processes and CI/CD with Azure DevOps. Around that sits the work that makes a platform useful, from Azure infrastructure and networking to reporting and machine learning. Clients come mostly from financial services and retail.
How he works
When you hire SNOWGLOBE, you work with Martin directly. He usually joins as architect or lead engineer next to your team, sets the patterns and builds the first pieces with them, so your people can carry on without him.
Background
Before founding SNOWGLOBE in 2022, Martin was the first data scientist at EDEKA, where he built the customer data platform and grew the Data & Analytics team to more than 20 people. Earlier he was a data scientist at Bauer Media Group.
Education
Martin studied Computer Science and Business Administration (Wirtschaftsinformatik) at Hochschule Stralsund and holds a bachelor's and a master's degree, completed in 2008. He graduated among the top 5% of his year.
