I played around a little with the Databricks Serverless SQL Warehouse and this is what I found out about caching:
- The same query once submitted as upper case and repeated as lower case comes from cache.
- After the SQL Warehouse was shut down and started again, the same query as run before does use the cache.
Why does that matter?
- Robust caching is both technically a very cool feature.
- More important: it provides added value for the user not waiting for query results already executed once before.
